Today, you can get first impressions of your future opponents in Chaos Chronicles. Those 3D models are directly taken out of the game. At this time, Skeletons, Orcs, Ogre, Ghouls, Zombies and Gargoyles can be found here, but more will follow soon. (Click on the thumbnails to enlarge).

They’re good enough. I like the skeletons especially, the bones have a stony quality to them, makes me think they’re fossilized. The orcs are a bit too urukhai-ish from the LOTR movie. And by a bit, I mean so much it’d kinda annoy me in-game. I think it’s the armor, especially the helmets. The zombies are cool too, like a people who have died of dehydration in a desert. The gargoyles are a bit lackluster. Feel less like gargoyle and more like some bat-beast. Though I guess most of my complaints don’t matter since in the game the enemies aren’t as big as a zoomed in picture. I suppose the same goes for the good parts too, sadly.
But all said, it’s definitely good enough.
I think they look brilliant. Nice job guys.
Excellent! Looking forward to seeing some more.
But please bring on the information on combat and the world map as soon as possible!
Wow, that visored orc looks really cool! And the undead… It seems the appearances of zombies vary with the races?
Very well done. I am looking forward to this game!
Amazing, I especially love the skeletons. Gorgeous!
With that said, I agree with Tiavals on the Gargoyles – they look a bit too much like bats, but it’s a minor complaint.
They all look great, except for the ogre. He seems rather undetailed and unfinished – especially his torso and hands – compared to other creatures.
I know this might sound silly, or like I’m complaining, but do the ogres/orcs HAVE to be wearing iron armor like this? It’s just something in other fantasy games that ticked me off, these monsters are supposed to be feral/wild/uncivilized, and yet they have this ornately forged armor on, I just think things like big wooden clubs etc would be more appropriate. But it would probably make sense for the undead considering they were once humans.
Pretty decent quality models but i as well have to bitch about orkish armor better make it leather and bone and perhaps adding tribal tatoos and patterns on them, also do smth about theyr hair those guys should be anything but bald(the dandy troy’s 300 shaved and clad in shiny metal armor really doesn’t fit them… unless u are aiming to put a new spin on the generally savage and brutal orkish society)
About the skellies just make sure there’s a lot of rust/dirt on any metal they own’, otherwise anything goes for them(may be a good idea to use some old weaponry/armor style so u can easily trow them in some back story to explain the ‘when/why’)
A short information: Not only your characters will be able to wear different armor but also most of the enemies. This means that different armor for the same enemies is easy to realize (for the orcs e.g.). We just chose these to show the detail-level of the creatures you’ll be able to kill. Please note that the camera will be set above all these things
How about a return to the pig-snouted and -tusked orcs of old? They’ve been out of style for so long it could come back as a new and fresh look.
I second Screeg’s suggestion. Really miss the pig-faced orcs from the old D&D monster manual and even the animates series.
