Pre-December Screenshots & Infos

Categories: Development, General

It’s time for an update. The last days we’re pretty much full of work. Some of you may have noticed that we also posted some screenshots here and there on several forums or provided some sites with new material (e.g. the guys from RPG France who did an interview with our producer). Now we have added all the screenshots to our very own media-section, too. Yes, that’s an unusual thing for us. So far we just released a batch of new screenshots once per month. And it’s not yet December. So, why are we doing this?

Well. We’d like to announce today that there won’t be new screenshots in December. We’d also like to announce the reason for that. We promised a trailer several times before. And now we can officially say that the trailer indeed isn’t far away anymore. Instead of static screenshots you’ll see Chaos Chronicles in movement for the first time in December. And not at the end of December but much, much earlier. It will, of course, contain a lot of WiP-material. A short example: If you have read our blog for quite a while you’ll notice the old grid here and there. With the release of the trailer another small announcement will be made – just as a little hint.

Amazing stuff, keep up the good work.

    Looks Outstanding!

Very promising indeed and very much looking forward to the ‘trailer’

If the combat mechanics are as good as have been hinted at, this looks like a must-buy game.

Sounds good, I’ll probably buy a new computer just to play this thing.

  5. CC-Team

What system do you have right now?

  6. Aarionn

    Great screens!

I hope you will be releasing the game soon :)

Heh, my systen is ancient in computer terms. 4 years old with intel integrated graphics. I need a new computer anyway, so the timing will be good if this game gets released next year.

AWESOME screenshots. One thing I was wondering about this game is how are you guys are going to handle buffs? In KoTC you can’t use protection/prayer type spells outside of combat, I actually prefer that to casting a bunch of buffs pre-combat.

  9. Rpgguy

@Oasis actually that was one of the things I hated about KoTC – it made all buffs spells pretty weak. on the other hand games like neverwinter nights make you wait minutes after each rest in order to buff yourself. buffing outside of combat should have some sort of support to make it painless to do every time you finish rest – like a script saying every time you finish rest automatically cast x y z.

The screenshots look great, but they’re all so…um, overly purple? :P
Pretty much all dungeon shots released lately have some shades of purple when it comes to the “main theme” colour. Is it because they depict the same dungeon?
I really loved the use of colours in the August 2012 screenshots (media section).

I hope there won’t be pre-combat buffing, it was definately the right choice in KOTC to make it so rare. I truly hate buffing my guys up in BG and NWN and so on. Not only does it make the game more imbalanced(since monsters don’t know how to do it and so it gives the player a huge advantage) it is also less epic in a visual and thematic sense. It feels absurd when instead of a knight in full plate goes to an evil forest, it’s a darn lightshow like it’s christmas. I’d much prefer buff spells to be able to cast only in combat, but be boosted so that you would actually cast them. Perhaps that you can have just 1 buff spell on per character.

The new screen shots look good. Looking forward to seeing the trailer next month. On buff spells, I’d like to see some that can be cast outside of combat.

Something that the screenshots lack is someone casting spells, would be nice to see some combat/spells effects in the trailer.

Looks like a cool game but in your screen shots your characters are not casting any shadows
